American Falls Dam Fishing

Yesterday Todd came down to Pocatello early in the morning so that we could drive over to American Falls and go fishing. We like to fish, so I took him to my favorite fishing hole. About 10 minutes after we got there, he decided he d my fishing spot. He didn't like all the weeds and crum that was floating around in the river. Needless to say, I caught my 1st fish there. So there were fish all over the place jumping, he just was in a winey mood, so we went up to the American Falls Reservoir.

We found a point along the shore that stuck out quite a ways into the water, so we parked and walked around the point, looking for any signs of fish (particularly Bass). We tried fishing in several locations, but didn't get any bites.

So we went below the dam and the fishing was a lot better down there. I guess that's a mood point because we really did not catch anything for a long time. There were however very large fish jumping all around us. These dang fish were taunting us all morning and afternoon. Todd actually "Supposedly" had a bite from a very large fish. We're talking a 16" fish weighing a couple of pounds. He said he had it on his line, and the fish jumped out of the water and spit the lure out of its mouth. I didn't see the fish jump, so I can't guarantee that he actually even saw this fish, but I am taking his word for it. We spent the better part of a day trying to catch these retarded fish that kept jumping all around our hooks.

Finally when we were supposed to be heading back to Pocatello, the little fish started biting, so we got a few fish. I think the total count was
SCOTT- 4 fish
TODD- 3 fish

So I won, but it was a long and rough day. It wouldn't have been so bad if we would have caught a big fish. Well, I'll be back! Enjoy the pics.

A Funeral is Set for a Dear Friend

Dear Friends,

It's a sad day in Pocatello. Today we had to say goodbye to one of our dear friends. It is hard to describe the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth that went on. Our dear friend "Natalia" was taken from us this afternoon. And what's worse...her life was valued at only $40 bucks. This precious gem has been in our family since it was new. My parents bought it new in 1990, so that translates to 18 years of friendship. I am so distraught right now that it is hard for me to even type these beautiful words. Hold on, I need a tissue to blow my nose....

As this dear friend of ours passes away and moves on to another life higher than ours, we would like to say our goodbye's properly. Unfortunately we can't have an open Casket ceremony because she is not here to see. But fortunately for modern technology we have decided to hold an ONLINE FUNERAL. Since I (Scott) had the wonderful opportunity to drive this dear friend around for the past 7 years, and she kicked the bucket at my house, I am personally going to conduct the funeral. I would not want to burden anybody else with this dreaded task. Hold on, I am tearing up again.....Eileen, where's the Kleenex?.........

I will wait until someone IM's me and then we will add everybody that wants to attend into one chatroom and we can have the funeral. Plan to have the funeral last approximately 10 minutes, and there is limited parking, so plan accordingly. Please feel free to come prepared to share stories and/or thoughts of "Natalia" you remember. Please keep them positive! No negative thoughts are allowed!*****
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your cooperation and support in this very difficult time in our lives. Although it will be hard, I think we will get by and move on to bigger and better things.

We Went FISHIN' this morning!

Today is Saturday, and we went fishin'! I like to go fishing at our favorite fishing spot just west of American Falls because there is never many people around, and the fish jump around a lot. It was beautiful this morning. It was driving me NUTS because there were fish jumping all around my hook, but none of them wanted to partake of my worms and spinners. But we went to the dock and sat up our chair and sat down, put a big worm on a hook, and sat and patiently waited for little fishies to bite.
15 minutes later, I caught my fish...the guy sitting next to me told me it was a small mouth bass. I know nothing of fishing, so we sat and talked to the guys next to us, and he was catching rainbow trout and bass, and I caught this bass, and it totally made my day. I am totally addicted to fishing, now that I actually caught something. My dream is to buy one of those aluminum fishing boats with a motor, and go sit out on the snake river and just relax and fish all day. That is my dream, and one of these days it's going to become a reality. Here are a couple of other pictures that we took of our fishing hole. I like this place!
By the way, pepper came fishing with us. She likes to hunt around the fishin' grounds and sniff things and tempt herself at jumping in the water after a pelican or bird, or even a fish. One of the guys that was sitting next to us caught a fish and put it on a line to take home. Pepper was very curious about this fish and kept trying to sniff it. The fish splashed her in the face. It was very funny to see!

It's a BABY GIRL!!!

This past week we went for our big ultrasound and we found out that we are going to have a girl. We were kind of shocked. Eileen's side of the family has 3x as many boys as far as grandchildren goes, and on my side of the family, everyone has had a boy first, so we were expecting to have a BOY. But oddly enough we are expecting a girl!!! It took me a couple of days to figure out what i thought about the whole situation. But now I am really excited. I am not ready however for a Drama Queen. Oh no, NOT MY BABY !!!

I was so excited that I went out and bought 2 little Onesie's for my future newborn. These are pictures of what they look like. Very Creative I thought! I am going to spoil this little baby so much that she will think she is growing up in the Royal Palace! Ok maybe not, but I think she will be spoiled by BOTH grandma's. I guess that's what grandparents are for!

Here are also some pictures of HER ultrasound. Aunt Darla said that they were the clearest ultrasound pictures she's ever seen, so I am proud of my baby!

I think she looks JUST LIKE her dad!

Oh By the way, The answers to the game that apparently only 3 people attempted to play were...

1- The Colorado State Capital in Denver
2- Us on the bed of our Sheraton Hotel room in downtown Denver on the 20th floor
3- Downtown Denver as seen from our hotel room
4- The Wyoming State Capital in Cheyenne
5- The Wyoming State Capital in Cheyenne
6- The dirt road leading to the Nebraska Highpoint...Panorama Point
7- Panorama Point, the Nebraska State Highpoint
8- My Favorite picture of Downtown Denver I took
9- The Jim Bridger Power Plant in Wyoming. This is part of Idaho Power. Odd that we get our electricity from Wyoming!

Thanks to Jeff for winning the game! He actually got the closest to all of the places. He was way off however on the nebraska highpoint pictures. He thought it was a grave site in the middle of nowhere! I guess he wins the prize which will not be mentioned here!
